Quebec leaders are advocating for Montreal to become the headquarters for NATO's proposed Defence, Security and Resilience Bank.
The Quebec government, alongside Montreal's business and political leaders, is promoting the city as the prime candidate for the new international Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), which is supported by NATO member countries. Premier François Legault emphasized Montreal's strengths during an event with key figures including Montreal’s mayor and the president of National Bank. The defence bank aims to alleviate military spending by pooling credit resources among member countries, thereby reducing borrowing costs.
