Beyond the Podium, Olympic Shots on Display at Palazzo Castiglioni

An exhibition celebrating Olympic moments is now open at Palazzo Castiglioni in Milan until February 17, featuring works by renowned photographer Giampaolo Sgura.

The city of Milan is enhancing its Olympic-related events with a new exhibition titled 'Beyond the Podium', hosted at Palazzo Castiglioni, the headquarters of Confcommercio Milano. This exhibition, which is open to the public for free until February 17, is part of the special projects celebrating the tenth anniversary of MuseoCity, an initiative aimed at promoting the city’s museum heritage.

The photographic exhibition 'Rehearsal - Before the Applause', created by internationally acclaimed photographer Giampaolo Sgura, is produced under the direction of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, in collaboration with Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and Balich Wonder Studio as part of the Cultural Olympics. It features a series of images that will be included in the collection 'Olympism Made Visible', curated by the Olympic Museum, showcasing the essence of the Olympic spirit.

Giampaolo Sgura has captured intimate moments behind the scenes of the opening ceremony of the Games, reflecting the faces, costumes, and collective energy that define this monumental event. The exhibition highlights not only the artistic interpretation of the Olympic experience but also contributes to the broader narrative of how culture and sport intersect, enriching the community and bringing people together around shared values and memories.
