Ukraine currently needs various types of drones and air defense the most
Ukrainian representatives have emphasized the urgent need for drones and air defense systems to enhance military capabilities and protect civilians amid ongoing conflicts.
In a recent interview with Latvian Radio, Oleksandrs Faļštinskis, a representative of the Ukrainian army, highlighted that the primary request from Ukraine's partners is for drones and terrestrial robotic systems. The aim is to replace as many human lives as possible with these technologies during ongoing military operations. Faļštinskis also pointed out that air defense capabilities remain a significant concern, given the lack of secure areas throughout the country due to missile strikes reaching as far as western Ukraine. This situation necessitates increased support for air defense systems to safeguard civilians and critical infrastructure.
Faļštinskis stressed the importance of protecting the civilian population and critical infrastructure due to the extensive length of Ukraine's front line, which exceeds 1000 kilometers. He indicated that there is no place in Ukraine that is completely safe from missile attacks, highlighting the urgency of securing adequate air defense systems and missiles. The statement emphasizes the need for robust defenses in urban areas, which are vital for the country’s resilience and defense operations. The stakes are particularly high in major cities, where significant civilian presences require comprehensive protection measures.
Meanwhile, Valdis Dombrovskis, the Vice President of the European Commission, confirmed that support for Ukraine will continue to be a significant focus in the upcoming EU budget. This suggests an ongoing commitment from the European Union to assist Ukraine not only in securing military equipment but also in promoting the nation's overall stability and security in the face of external threats. This collaborative effort is pivotal for Ukraine as it continues to navigate the complexities of warfare and civilian protections in a highly volatile environment.
