Curiel assures dialogue with workers at the Cineteca Nacional: "There is no strike"

Cultura Secretary Claudia Curiel assured that there is ongoing dialogue with Cineteca Nacional employees regarding their working conditions, indicating there is no strike planned.

Cultura Secretary Claudia Curiel addressed concerns raised by some workers at the Cineteca Nacional about their labor conditions, stating that meetings have been held to address these issues. She mentioned that there is collaboration with the Presidency and the Treasury Department to improve the situation of the workers, particularly focusing on those employed under service contracts. Curiel emphasized that although there were mentions of a small symbolic protest, activities at the Cineteca would not be interrupted.

During a press briefing, known as 'La Mañanera,' held at Palacio Nacional, Curiel highlighted the importance of prioritizing employees with longer tenure while maintaining an open line of communication to address their demands. This initiative suggests a proactive approach by the government to engage with cultural employees and alleviate their concerns, which could lead to better working conditions and employee morale.

The assurance that there will be no strike indicates a desire from both the government and the employees to resolve conflicts amicably and sustain operational continuity at the Cineteca Nacional. This is particularly critical given the significance of the Cineteca as a cultural institution in Mexico, and any disruptions could affect public access to cinema and cultural education.
