Marius lost his temper in court – Interrupted the session and walked out

Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, disrupted a court session while facing charges of sexual assault.

In a recent court session regarding sexual assault allegations against Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, emotions ran high as Marius interrupted proceedings and left the courtroom. The court is currently examining claims that he inappropriately touched a sleeping woman and filmed the act without her consent, incidents alleged to have occurred in March 2024 in Oslo. Coverage of the trial has also been reported by Norwegian media, including VG.

During his testimony on Friday, Marius recounted that he had been out with his then-girlfriend on the night of the alleged assault. After a dispute that led to his girlfriend ending the relationship, he reported a surge of anger, during which he claimed to have torn his shirt and possibly overturned a table in a fit of rage. Furthermore, Marius disclosed that he had used cocaine and ketamine, as well as consumed vodka, throughout that evening, which he believes may have influenced his actions later that night.

The ongoing trial has significant implications not only for Marius personally but also for the broader royal family in Norway, as it brings to light issues surrounding accountability and the consequences of actions taken under the influence. The outcome of this legal case could impact public perception of both Marius and the monarchy, underscoring the balance between personal behavior and the expectations placed on members of the royal family.
