Ibarra is gearing up for its Carnival celebration under the theme "Carnival Holiday, Ibarra Awaits You," which coincides with Valentine's Day weekend on February 14. The celebration, termed "Carnival of Love," is designed to rejuvenate local economies and enhance tourism through an extensive agenda that includes social, cultural, child-friendly, sports, and artistic events. The city expects over 50,000 tourists during this festive period.

The packed schedule includes a variety of activities from February 14 to 17, with highlight events such as a 5k 'Run of Love' on February 14, open to couples, friends, and singles. Participants will kick off their race at 07:00 from the Cruz Verde. The festival will also showcase a vibrant parade called the “Pregón del Carnaval del Amor,” featuring gigantic allegories, colorful masks, and dances, with attractions from other provinces participating, which will take place on Avenida Camilo Ponce at 10:00.
