Issa Kazim succeeds Sultan bin Sulayem as head of Dubai Ports
Issa Kazim has been appointed as the new Chairman of Port Dubai World, succeeding Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
The Board of Directors of Dubai Ports World announced on Friday the appointment of Issa Kazim as the new Chairman of the company, taking over from Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. This leadership change is part of an initiative to enhance governance and corporate leadership within the organization. The board's statement emphasizes that this decision supports a strategy for sustainable growth and aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a key hub for trade and logistics.
Issa Kazim brings over three decades of extensive professional experience in financial and economic sectors to his new role. His previous positions include serving as the Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Chairman of the Dubai Financial Market. He has also held leadership roles in the Central Bank of the UAE and the Dubai Economic Department, positioning him with a robust expertise that will benefit Dubai Ports World significantly as it strives for innovation and effectiveness in logistics and supply chain management.
Alongside Kazim’s appointment, Youfraj Narayan has been appointed as the company’s CEO. Narayan has vast experience in financial management, corporate finance, and global trade logistics. Since joining Dubai Ports in 2004, he has contributed significantly to various initiatives that enhance global supply chains and trade, complementing Kazim's vision for the company’s future. This leadership transition is poised to bolster the effectiveness of Dubai Ports World as it navigates the complexities of international trade and logistics.
