Three teenagers have been detained in Itajaí, Brazil, suspected of abusing a dog that eventually died from its injuries.
In Itajaí, a city on the northern coast of Santa Catarina, Brazil, three teenagers were apprehended under suspicion of having abused a dog, leading to the animal's death. According to the local municipal guard, they responded to a complaint of animal cruelty in the Cordeiros neighborhood on the evening of Thursday, the 12th. Witness reports suggest that the adolescents threw the dog into a river and later took it to an abandoned building, from which they allegedly threw it from the top of the structure.
The Police Military managed to locate three of the teenagers, whose identities have not been disclosed, and brought them to the police station for questioning. The Civil Police of Santa Catarina is expected to conduct further investigations to clarify the details surrounding the incident. Notably, the municipal guard has not provided information regarding the whereabouts of a fourth adolescent who may have been involved in the incident.
