Farmers and livestock breeders from across Greece are making their way to Syntagma Square in Athens ahead of a planned nationwide rally. The convoy of tractors entered the city via Kifisou Avenue, traversed Athinon Avenue, and is currently in Karaiskaki Square, preparing to head to Omonia and onwards to the square where the gathering will take place. The first group to arrive in Athens consisted of about 150 farmers from Crete, who docked early Friday morning at the port of Piraeus. They were quickly followed by other farmers from mainland Greece, who converged in Afidnes, Attica, and proceeded to the center of Athens with police escort. Their presence in the city signals the scale of discontent among agricultural workers and the urgency of their situation. The farmers plan to spend the night in Syntagma Square before departing in an orderly manner the following afternoon.
