Manex Silva ranks in the top 100 in a competition with the most successful athlete of the Winter Games
Brazilian skier Manex Silva achieved a commendable 97th place in the 10 km freestyle skiing event at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
Manex Silva, known for his remarkable performance in cross-country skiing, marked a significant milestone for Brazil by finishing in 97th place out of 113 competitors in the 10 km freestyle skiing event held in Tesero, Northern Italy. This performance positions Silva as one of the top Brazilian athletes in this Olympic discipline, showcasing the growing presence of Brazil in winter sports. Silva started the race from the 103rd position, managing to advance and complete the course in a time of 26 minutes and 51 seconds.
The event was won by Norwegian skier Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who finished with an impressive time of 20 minutes and 36 seconds, marking his third victory at the Milan-Cortina Olympics. Klæbo's win signifies his eighth Olympic gold medal, equalling the record for the most gold medals held by fellow Norwegian athletes Ole Einar Bjørndalen, Bjørn Dæhlie, and Marit Bjorgen. Klæbo, at just 29 years old, is in a position to surpass others and become the all-time leading Olympic medalist as he is set to compete in three more events, including the sprint and team relay, during these Games.
