Emirates Airlines: Our flights to and from Algeria are running as usual
Emirates Airlines confirmed its flights to and from Algeria are operating as scheduled despite the Algerian government's announcement to annul the air services agreement with the UAE.
Emirates Airlines has announced that its flights to and from Algeria continue to operate without interruptions, adhering to the established schedule. This assurance comes in light of recent news that the Algerian authorities have commenced the process of cancelling the air services agreement previously signed with the United Arab Emirates. Emirates stated that their services remain unaffected for now, emphasizing their commitment to comply with all directives from the local government.
The official Algerian news agency reported that this cancellation process was initiated on February 7, following a decision by the Algerian government to terminate the air transport treaty that was originally signed on May 13, 2013. The agreement, which was ratified through a presidential decree on December 30, 2014, facilitated various air travel operations between the two countries. The specifics regarding the reasons behind the cancellation have not been detailed by the Algerian authorities.
In the context of this development, the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE indicated that the cancellation process aligns with existing regulatory mechanisms. Although the cancellation might lead to potential future complications in air transport and bilateral relations, Emirates Airlines has expressed that they are currently able to maintain their flight schedules without issues, thus ensuring travelers face no immediate disruptions in their plans.
