Two apartments in Vilnius burgled – thieves stole gold jewelry
Two apartments in Vilnius have been burglarized, leading to significant losses in gold jewelry totaling over 9,600 euros.
The police reported that between November 2, 2025, and February 11, 2026, gold jewelry valued at approximately 4,040 euros was stolen from an apartment on BirutÄ—s Street in Vilnius. This incident marks the beginning of an investigation into the increasing trend of burglaries in the area. Additionally, another burglary occurred between March 31, 2025, and February 9, 2026, on Gedimino Avenue, where gold jewelry and other items worth 5,585 euros were stolen, bringing the total losses from these crimes to over 9,600 euros.
As the police initiate preliminary investigations into these thefts, this raises concerns about safety and security within urban areas of Vilnius. Residents are increasingly worried about the risk of burglaries, especially in instances where valuables are targeted. The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help curb this trend.
These incidents reflect a broader pattern of crime in Lithuania's capital, which may prompt law enforcement agencies to enhance their patrols and develop community outreach programs focused on crime prevention. The outcomes of these investigations could influence public perception of safety in Vilnius and potentially impact local businesses and real estate markets if the trend continues.
