Bačić in Kumrovec: The Government Will Decide in March on the Sale of Tito's Memorial Home

Minister of Spatial Planning Branko Bačić announced that the Croatian government will decide in March on the sale of the Tito Memorial Home through a public tender.

Branko Bačić, the Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property, visited the Tito Memorial Home in Kumrovec, which was built in 1974. During his visit, he announced that the Croatian government will make a decision regarding the sale of the memorial home via a public tender in March. This memorial home and the former Tito Political School have been declared a project of strategic importance for Croatia, reflecting its historical and cultural significance.

The Ministry of Spatial Planning took over responsibility for the Tito Memorial Home and the surrounding area over a year ago and has expressed a commitment to prevent further deterioration of the complex and enable its revitalization. Bačić emphasized the importance of this project not just for its historical aspect but also for its architectural significance as a masterpiece from the 1970s. The government's decision to sell the property is seen as a pivotal move in ensuring its maintenance and potential redevelopment.

The complex occupies approximately 6,500 square meters of enclosed space and is situated on about eight hectares of land, presenting opportunities for a significant investment project with broader regional implications. As the decision-making process unfolds, the focus will likely be on both preserving the historical integrity of the site and exploring ways to attract investment that could rejuvenate the area.
