Several areas in the occupied West Bank have witnessed a series of attacks by settlers, leading to injuries among Palestinians and prompting families in the northern Jordan Valley to start evacuating their homes.
On Friday, various regions in the occupied West Bank experienced multiple assaults carried out by Israeli settlers, who were reportedly protected by Israeli forces. The assaults included gunfire, incursions, and military checkpoints, resulting in injuries among Palestinians. In the northern Jordan Valley, Palestinian families have begun dismantling their homes in anticipation of evacuation following these attacks.
One of the most significant incidents occurred in the village of Telefit, located south of Nablus, where settlers opened live fire on residents, injuring one young man in the thigh among other casualties. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that at least three individuals were injured as settlers attacked farmers in the same village. Additionally, Israeli forces arrested three Palestinians and recorded further injuries due to assaults on the outskirts of the village, alongside attacks on homes and vehicles.
Local sources indicated that Israeli forces not only provided security for the settlers but also fired live ammunition, sound bombs, and tear gas towards the Palestinians and their homes, leading to cases of suffocation. The ongoing violence and the evacuation of families underscore the increasing tension in the region and the dire humanitarian conditions faced by Palestinian communities in the West Bank, particularly under the escalating settler violence and military actions.
