ANOTHER MALFUNCTION ⟩ LHV deducted money from clients' bank accounts without reason
LHV Bank experienced a malfunction that resulted in the unauthorized deduction of a five-euro transaction fee from its clients during maintenance work.
On Thursday, during maintenance work, LHV Bank in Estonia experienced a system malfunction that led to clients being charged an unreasonable five-euro transaction fee. This incident marks the third similar malfunction to occur in a short period, highlighting ongoing issues within the bank's operational stability. The problem particularly affected clients utilizing the bank's micro-investment services, raising concerns about the reliability of the bank's digital systems.
Previously, LHV faced a significant system error in January when it informed clients that a technical glitch caused certain card transactions to be double-processed. On January 22, the bank communicated to its customers that they identified a technical issue leading to erroneous deductions from their accounts. LHV acknowledged the inconvenience and assured clients that they were actively addressing the problem, committing to rectify the situation swiftly and restore normal operations.
With repeated technology malfunctions occurring in such a short span, LHV Bank may face scrutiny from clients and regulatory bodies regarding its operational reliability and customer service standards. As clients seek assurance that their financial transactions are secure, the bank's ability to manage these technical issues will be crucial in maintaining trust and confidence in its services.
