Oslo City Culture Prize Goes to Finn Kalvik
Finn Kalvik has been awarded Oslo's Culture Prize, recognizing his substantial contributions to music in Norway.
The city of Oslo has announced that the prestigious Oslo City Culture Prize has been awarded to renowned singer-songwriter Finn Kalvik. Known for his poetic lyrics and memorable melodies, Kalvik hails from Grorud and is celebrated as one of Norway's leading artists in the genre of folk and pop music. The award highlights his long and impactful career, spanning both national and international recognition, particularly noting his acclaimed song 'Livets lyse side.'
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Oslo City Hall on March 19. Mayor Anne Lindboe expressed her pride in recognizing Kalvik, emphasizing the cultural importance of his work and the inspiration he provides to both audiences and fellow artists. Alongside Kalvik, several other organizations and groups including Cosmopolite, Feil Teater, Oslo fagottkor, TekstLab, and Tøyen Orkester will also receive honors for their contributions to the arts, showcasing the rich tapestry of creativity present in Oslo's cultural scene.
