Carnival in São Paulo starts with 30°C heat and isolated rain; see the weather forecast

São Paulo is set to begin its Carnival celebrations with temperatures around 30°C and isolated rainfall expected on Friday and Saturday.

The city of São Paulo will kick off its Carnival with high temperatures expected to reach around 30°C, along with isolated rain showers forecasted for the afternoon and evening of February 13 and 14. The Municipal Emergency Management Center (CGE) has indicated that these rain showers will be localized, primarily occurring between mid-afternoon and early evening.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) anticipates a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day on Friday, with intermittent rain in the forecast. Early temperatures will start at around 19°C, and humidity levels are expected to drop as low as 40%, contributing to a muggy atmosphere in the city both days. While the rain may provide temporary relief from the heat, the CGE warns residents to remain vigilant about potential flooding.

With the combination of heat and humidity, the state Civil Defense office has issued warnings about possible rain showers across all regions of São Paulo, except for the area of Registro in the Ribeira Valley. There may also be gusts of wind and thunderstorms, which could pose risks as celebrations unfold during this festive period.
