'Epstein is an Israeli intelligence asset'... conspiracy theories spread after the release of Epstein files

Claims alleging Jeffrey Epstein's ties to Israeli intelligence have resurfaced following the release of U.S. investigation documents, lending credence to conspiracy theories in certain political circles.

Recent claims have emerged regarding Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, being more than just a billionaire financier; some now argue he was actually an agent for a foreign intelligence service. This assertion has gained traction since the release of more than 3 million documents by the U.S. Department of Justice, which detail investigations into Epstein. Notably, a report from the FBI's Los Angeles office describes informants indicating that Epstein had been 'recruited by Mossad,' the Israeli intelligence agency, to act as a spy. However, these assertions have not been independently verified.

Additionally, one of the reports claims that Epstein's lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, allegedly communicated to Alex Acosta, a federal prosecutor, in 2007 that Epstein was 'linked to intelligence agencies on both sides of the Atlantic.' Detractors point out that both Acosta and Dershowitz have denied such claims ever taking place during their dialogues. Epstein's earlier legal negotiations allowed him to avoid serious charges, receiving only a minor sentence that facilitated a quick release, leading to accusations that the investigation was poorly managed.

Epstein's connection to alleged intelligence operations raises questions about the potential involvement of political figures and their motivations. Alex Acosta, who later became Secretary of Labor under President Trump, also faced scrutiny for favorable treatment in Epstein’s prosecution. The resurgence of these claims has significant implications, as they intertwine high-profile individuals with broader conspiracy theories regarding espionage and political networks, reinforcing the notion that Epstein was possibly involved in international intelligence operations.
