Food will drive Polish exports in 2026

Polish exports are expected to increase in 2026, driven by the food sector, as forecasts predict a rise in the value of foreign sales to €355.1 billion.

Polish exports, which experienced a slight decline in 2024 after a long period of growth, are projected to rebound and increase in value by 2026. According to estimates by the National Chamber of Commerce (KIG), the value of Poland's foreign trade is expected to reach €355.1 billion, up from €343.7 billion last year. Although December of the previous year showed a slowdown, the outlook for the upcoming quarters remains promising.

The KIG highlights signs of improving economic conditions among Poland's key trading partners, which bodes well for exporters. Factors such as a stabilizing currency and new demand driven by concerns around economic security and resilience are helping create a conducive environment for moderate growth in foreign sales. As per the chief economist of KIG, Piotr Soroczyński, these conditions are likely to foster further growth despite the previous decline.

As the food sector plays a significant role in driving exports, industries related to agriculture and food processing are expected to capitalize on the anticipated increases in demand. The focus on food as a key export product indicates a strategic emphasis on stabilizing and boosting growth for the Polish economy amidst shifting global trade dynamics and economic recovery trends.
