Ecuador's National Police elite units showcased their skills at the international UAE Swat Challenge held in Dubai from February 7 to 11. The competition involved a rigorous series of tactical challenges aimed at assessing the readiness and capabilities of emergency response teams. The Ecuadorian team, comprised of 24 officers from the Intervention and Rescue Group (GIR), Special Operations Group (GOE), and Anti-Narcotics Mobile Special Group (Gema), not only claimed the first place in the Central and South American regions but also represented the country well on the American continent, finishing second overall.
