A former kirchnerista official is accused of offering bribes to prevent the start of classes in Chubut

A union leader in Trelew reported that a former provincial official and local businessmen attempted to bribe him to disrupt the academic year in Chubut.

In Chubut, José Severiche, the secretary general of the Association of State Workers (ATE) in Trelew, has filed a complaint alleging that he was approached by a group of local businessmen and a former provincial official linked to kirchnerismo, who offered him bribes. Their intention, according to Severiche, was to convince him to take actions that would disrupt the start of the academic year in the province. The matter has sparked an investigation by the Specialized Fiscal Unit for Crimes Against Public Administration (UFE-DAP).

The allegations have raised serious concerns about corruption and the integrity of officials involved in public service. Severiche emphasized the role of the union as representatives of the workers and rejected the notion that businessmen should interfere in such critical matters concerning education. The situation highlights the tension between labor representation and economic interests, which might threaten the functioning of public institutions.

In response to the allegations, local authorities have initiated searches and inquiries to gather evidence against the accused individuals. This case not only reflects local issues of governance and transparency in Chubut but also resonates with broader public sentiments regarding accountability among elected officials and their associates. The outcome of this investigation could have significant implications for the governance of the province and its educational institutions.
