The record of the group 'ODIS', awaited for decades, has been released on vinyl

The Latvian vocal-instrumental group ODIS has released a long-anticipated vinyl record featuring songs recorded in the late 1980s.

The vocal-instrumental ensemble ODIS, associated with the Ogres Dārzkopības izmēģinājumu stacijas, has finally released a vinyl record that has been in the works for several decades. This record includes ten songs recorded in 1987 and 1988, which have not been published together until now. The project was nurtured for two years by Mareks Ameriks and Kalvis Bormanis, who aimed to bring this long-awaited music to fans old and new.

Mareks Ameriks, the head of Jersika Records, expressed the excitement surrounding the release, stating that the album sounds fresh and may come as a pleasant discovery for younger music lovers. The sound of the songs resonates with the electro-funk music that was popular in Europe and the British Isles during the time of its original recording, reflecting the cultural musical landscape of that era. This connection to a significant musical style enhances the allure of the release for audiences interested in the evolution of music in Latvia.

The production quality of the record has been finely tuned with the aid of sound director Mārtiņš Krastiņš, ensuring a high-fidelity listening experience. With the approval and assistance of Arņs Medņs, the raw materials for the album were diligently sought out to ensure that the final product not only preserves the original essence of the recordings but also embodies the enthusiasm with which the group performed. The release of this vinyl is not only a nostalgic return but also a revitalization of the past for both the artists and their audience.
