A 63-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Police in Campo Grande, Brazil, on charges of sexually abusing three of his granddaughters. The arrests took place in the Vila Romana neighborhood, and the suspect is reported to have acted as an evangelical pastor, using his home as a preaching point. The case began to unfold after the victims, who were children at the time of the abuse, reported the incidents and filed three separate complaints between the years 2025 and 2026.

The investigation was launched by the Specialized Police Department for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (DEPCA), which swiftly acted upon the allegations made by the victims. The police revealed that the suspect exploited his position as a family figure—specifically that of a 'step-grandfather'—to gain trust and exert authority over the minors, ultimately leading to the sexual abuses. Law enforcement officials have also secured a mobile phone belonging to the suspect, which will undergo a technical examination in search of additional evidence to support the testimonies of the victims.
