Watch.. Part of the wall of Barcelona's sports city collapses

Severe storms in Barcelona have caused part of the wall and fence of the Joan Gamper Sports City to collapse, though no injuries were reported.

Severe storms accompanied by strong winds struck the Barcelona area on Thursday morning, leading to damages at the Joan Gamper Sports City, home to FC Barcelona's training facilities. Images shared by El Chiringuito showed a section of the wall and a portion of the fencing that separates the training center from the street being blown down. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any reported injuries, emphasizing the need for careful monitoring during such extreme weather.

In anticipation of the storm and its potential impacts, the Catalan government announced the suspension of all school, university, and sporting activities, as well as non-emergency health services. Citizens were urged to avoid unnecessary travel from midnight until 8:00 PM on the day of the storm, indicating the seriousness of the weather conditions and the government’s proactive measures to ensure public safety.

As for FC Barcelona, the club has rescheduled its team's trip to Madrid for their Copa del Rey semi-final match against Atlético Madrid, originally set for that morning. The team is adapting to the weather predictions and taking care to ensure that players and staff can travel safely to participate in the important match despite the inclement conditions.
