A 34-year-old man was apprehended on Thursday, after being caught on security cameras attempting to murder a 67-year-old passenger with blows from an iron bar at the CPA I terminal in Cuiabá, Brazil. The assailant approached the victim from behind, striking him on the head. Following the first blow, the victim collapsed, and the attacker continued with four additional strikes before fleeing the scene. The attack took place on Tuesday, and the police have since obtained footage from the terminal's internal security system.

The Military Police responded to the incident by reviewing the video footage and launching a manhunt in the vicinity of the terminal. On Thursday, they successfully located a suspect matching the description seen in the security recordings. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to the assault, offering a defense that the attack was a result of a prior disagreement with the victim, claiming that he had been assaulted by the passenger before the attack.

The victim was promptly taken to the hospital following the assault, emphasizing the serious nature of the incident and the prevailing concerns regarding security at public transportation facilities in Brazil.
