A truck from a distributor plunged down an incline and ended up in a river beside RJ-116, near Boca do Mato in Cachoeiras de Macacu, early Wednesday morning. The truck was reportedly heading towards Nova Friburgo when it lost control, possibly due to a brake failure, and veered off the road into the riverbed. The rapid response of the emergency services ensured that there were no further complications arising from the accident.

The distributer that owns the truck released a statement acknowledging the accident and indicating that they were cooperating with authorities regarding the investigation. Given that the incident occurred on a public road, it has raised concerns about road safety and vehicle maintenance in the region, prompting discussions about whether additional measures are necessary to prevent such accidents in the future.
