Investigators in Frankfurt have discovered 29 additional cases of forged signatures linked to the election list of Peter Feldmann, the city's former mayor, who is running for local office. In recent days, police have visited 183 supporters of Feldmann's list, "Frankfurt – Sozial!", to verify whether they truly signed the election proposal. The state prosecutor's office indicated that this finding supplements the previously identified four forged signatures, raising concerns about the legitimacy of the support for Feldmann’s candidacy.

The election list required 186 valid declarations of support, which corresponds to twice the number of seats in the city parliament; however, Feldmann's group claimed to have collected over 700 declarations. This exaggeration raises significant questions regarding the authenticity of the signatures and the credibility of the campaign itself. Feldmann, in response to the police investigations, has accused authorities of criminalizing his political efforts, a claim the prosecutor's office has rejected while citing the ongoing investigations.
