"Neighborhood Nannies" across the country with support of up to 500 euros per month
Greece has launched a program called "Neighborhood Nannies" that provides organized childcare for infants and toddlers, funded up to 500 euros a month to assist working parents.
A new collaborative agreement was signed on Thursday between Greece's Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, EDYTE AE, and EETAA AE to implement the "Neighborhood Nannies" program nationwide. This initiative aims to provide organized and safe childcare for infants and toddlers aged between 2 to 18 months, ensuring that parents have the option for flexible childcare solutions that accommodate their family and work needs.
The program offers a financial support of up to 500 euros per month for certified caregivers, funded by the European Social Fund Plus. This initiative specifically targets working parents who require reliable care for their infants, especially during the crucial early stages following birth. Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, emphasized the program's aim to universally implement a supportive policy for working families.
With the increasing demands on working parents and the need for quality childcare solutions, the "Neighborhood Nannies" program seeks to address these challenges by providing a structured support system, thereby enhancing child welfare and enabling parents to balance their professional responsibilities with family life effectively. The initiative is expected to have a significant positive impact on family dynamics throughout Greece, particularly in helping parents manage their work and home life more seamlessly.
