Carnival in Salvador will officially kick off, with measures in place to ensure public safety by restricting certain items at the event.
The Carnival in Salvador, recognized as the largest electric trio carnival in the world, is set to commence on Thursday, February 12, 2023. It is expected to attract thousands of revelers in the main circuits of the city, starting with festivities at the Osmar Circuit in Campo Grande at 5:30 PM, featuring performances by Xanddy Harmonia and invited guests. Another significant location, the Dodô Circuit (Barra-Ondina), will begin its festivities earlier at 3:30 PM, with renowned artists such as Bell Marques, Léo Santana, Tony Salles, and Margareth Menezes scheduled to perform on the first day.
