Atlas Maritime and European Maritime Finance (EMF) have made headlines with their record sale of two suezmax tankers to the American-listed company Okeanis Eco Tankers, owned by Giannis Alafouzos. Each ship was sold for an unprecedented $99.3 million, setting a new benchmark in the market for this type of tanker. The vessels, named "Arctic Star" and "Tromsø Star," boast a deadweight tonnage of 157,000 and are currently under construction at Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in South Korea.
