Hockey coach Ozoliņš will pay a substantial sum to his ex-wife in a settlement
Latvian national hockey team coach Sandis Ozoliņš has reached a settlement with his ex-wife, agreeing to pay her €650,000.
Sandis Ozoliņš, the head coach of the Latvian national hockey team, has settled a significant legal dispute with his ex-wife, Sandra Ozoliņa. According to reports from the LETA news agency, the Riga District Court has confirmed the settlement, whereby Ozoliņš will pay his ex-wife a total of €650,000. This agreement comes after a previous claim from Sandra, who demanded €1.64 million and half of his shares in 'Golfs & Karti.' Notably, Ozoliņš has relinquished all claims that she had brought against him.
In addition to this settlement, Sandis Ozoliņš is currently involved in another legal matter concerning his business partner, journalist Armands Puče, regarding decisions made during a shareholders meeting of their golf course management company. Puče has launched a lawsuit seeking to declare invalid the resolutions made at the meeting scheduled for December 9, 2024. While the Economic Affairs Court (ELT) rejected the request, the ruling has been appealed, indicating ongoing tensions in his business partnerships.
This financial and legal turbulence comes at a crucial time for Ozoliņš, as he leads the national hockey team. The settlement with his ex-wife not only resolves a significant personal financial obligation but also highlights the pressures faced by public figures in managing both their personal and professional lives. As he navigates his coaching responsibilities, these legal issues could have implications for his focus and public perception, particularly if they continue to attract media attention.
