Delegate Vitor Hugo requests dismissal and leaves command of the Justice Secretariat of MT
Delegate Vitor Hugo Teixeira has officially left his command of the Justice Secretariat of Mato Grosso (Sejus-MT) at his own request, paving the way for Valter Furtado Filho to take over the position.
Delegate Vitor Hugo Teixeira has stepped down from his role as head of the Justice Secretariat of Mato Grosso (Sejus-MT) on the evening of Wednesday, April 11, 2023, following his own request for dismissal. The state government confirmed this development, marking a significant shift in the leadership of the agency responsible for overseeing justice in the region.
With Teixeira's resignation, Valter Furtado Filho is set to take over the duties of the justice secretary. Furtado Filho, who previously served as the deputy director of Intelligence for the State Secretariat of Public Security (SESP-MT), is expected to officially assume the new role on the following Wednesday after the carnival holiday. His academic credentials include a law degree from the State University of Londrina and postgraduate studies in Criminal Law and Process as well as Public Security Management.
The establishment of Sejus-MT in January 2025 represented a strategic response to crime in the state, functioning as a separate entity from SESP, and is part of the 'Zero Tolerance for Organized Crime' program. This change in leadership could have implications for the ongoing initiatives within the justice department, especially in enhancing public safety and addressing crime effectively in Mato Grosso.
