E-Piim Production files for bankruptcy
E-Piim Tootmine has filed for bankruptcy due to financial difficulties impeding its operations.
E-Piim Tootmine, a significant producer in Estonia's dairy sector, submitted a bankruptcy application as its financial condition has deteriorated, making it impossible to fulfill obligations normally. The company's management, led by CEO Anti Orav, has been working since December 2025 to stabilize the situation in a bid to provide options for stakeholders, including creditors, to find a solution to the liquidity issues outside of bankruptcy proceedings.
In recent months, discussions have been held among the company's owners about possible solutions, yet there was a decision last week to reject an offer from a Dutch investor regarding SCE E-Piim's shares. Despite the bankruptcy filing, various businesses have shown interest in acquiring E-Piim's operations through the bankruptcy process, indicating that there may still be avenues for potential recovery of value from the company.
The management emphasized the importance of keeping the team and production running even while in bankruptcy proceedings, arguing that maintaining operations is the best way to preserve the value of the company's assets. The overall situation not only affects the direct employees of E-Piim Tootmine but also has broader implications for suppliers and the Estonian dairy market, which may face challenges if such a key player is unable to continue its operations.
