VG: The Center Party Wants to Call Former Foreign Ministers to Epstein Hearing
The Center Party in Norway is seeking to summon all former foreign ministers from the last 20 years to a hearing following new revelations from Epstein documents.
The Center Party (Senterpartiet) in Norway has proposed calling in all former foreign ministers from the past two decades for a parliamentary hearing regarding newly disclosed information from the Epstein documents. This initiative highlights the party's commitment to accountability and transparency in political affairs, especially concerning potential connections to controversial figures like Jeffrey Epstein.
If the proposal is accepted, it would require prominent politicians, including current Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and incoming Conservative Party leader Ine Eriksen Søreide, to testify. Støre served as foreign minister from 2005 to 2012, while Søreide held the position from 2017 to 2021. Their appearances could potentially shed light on their knowledge or involvement related to the allegations surrounding Epstein, thus raising significant political stakes.
On Tuesday, the Norwegian Parliament, Stortinget, reached an agreement to establish an independent investigative committee in light of the new information. The parliamentary control committee is expected to convene again on Thursday to outline the next steps for this inquiry, marking a crucial phase in addressing the implications of the Epstein revelations in a Norwegian context.
