The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the inaugural Korea-Central Asia summit is scheduled for September 16-17 in South Korea. Minister Park Jin emphasized that this meeting is pivotal for the government's New Northern Policy, aiming to broaden South Korea's diplomatic scope and foster enhanced relationships with Central Asian nations. Through this summit, South Korea seeks to establish a foundation for substantial cooperation, especially in the realms of security and economic diversification, utilizing the geopolitical significance of the Central Asia region.

The summit comes at a time when the global political landscape is rapidly changing, highlighting the strategic importance of Central Asia. South Korea's engagement with the five Central Asian nations—Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan—demonstrates a commitment to strengthening ties and collaboration.
