Cyber Security Center Exercises 'Cyber Shield OpEx' Will Be Held Virtually All Year Round
The Cyber Security Center in Lithuania has decided to conduct its 'Cyber Shield OpEx' exercises virtually throughout the year to allow more organizations to participate and enhance their internal incident management procedures.
As organizations show increasing interest in cybersecurity preparedness, Lithuania's Cyber Security Center (NKSC) has announced that its 'Cyber Shield OpEx' exercises will now be conducted virtually year-round. This move aims to utilize the NKSC's virtual training ground more effectively and enable a greater number of organizations to validate their internal incident management procedures and technical capabilities. The director of the center, Antanas Aleknavičius, emphasized that the initiative responds to the rising demand for cybersecurity training among critical service providers.
The 'Cyber Shield OpEx' exercises are specifically tailored for organizations offering critical services, acknowledging the vital role these entities play in national security and public welfare. By conducting the exercises throughout the year, participants can select the most convenient timing and training scenarios for their operations, thus allowing them to integrate these exercises into their regular training schedules. This flexibility is expected to increase engagement and readiness among participating organizations.
Overall, the shift to virtual exercises represents a strategic development in the field of cybersecurity in Lithuania, which is essential in an era of growing cyber threats. As cyber incidents become more frequent and sophisticated, preparing organizations through detailed and flexible training can significantly improve their resilience and response capabilities against potential cyberattacks.
