Cracks in Greek marble exports left by 2025

The year 2025 posed significant challenges for Greek marble exports, resulting in a decrease in both export value and quantity.

The year 2025 was marked by intense challenges for Greek marble exports, despite Greece's marble industry holding the second position in Europe regarding production and product distribution. The complex international environment and pressure on demand led to a decline in exports for the sector. In the first nine months of 2025, Greece's total marble exports amounted to €219.1 million, with an exported quantity of 549.4 thousand tons. This represents a decrease of 6.6% in export value from €234.5 million during the same period in 2024, and a decrease of 10.5% in the quantity exported compared to 613.9 thousand tons in the previous year.
