Atm, all means of transport in service thanks to the Olympic incentive
An Olympic incentive has been implemented to enhance public transport services in preparation for the Milan-Cortina Games.
The article discusses an initiative by Atm to improve public transport services in Milan due to the upcoming Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina. Between February 5 and 22 and March 7 to 15, all public transport services will be boosted to ensure efficiency and safety during the Games. Acknowledging the strategic role of Atm personnel, an agreement between Atm and the unions has resulted in extended operating hours and extra pay for staff members who ensure their full attendance during these critical periods.
Key enhancements include extending the operating hours of the metro until 2 a.m. for all five lines and increasing service frequency for lines M1 and M2 during holidays. Additional shuttle services from Rogoredo to the Arena Santa Giulia have been introduced, and tram lines 12 and 2 will also see an increase in service frequency. These measures aim to provide seamless transportation for event attendees and promote a positive image of Italy on an international stage during the Olympics.
The investment in public transport not only enhances the experience for visitors but also reflects the Italian government and Atm's commitment to excellence during a significant international event. By ensuring that transportation is reliable and abundant, they aim to manage the anticipated influx of tourists and media effectively. This initiative is seen as a strategic move to bolster Italy's reputation and showcase its capabilities in hosting prestigious events.
