Ifis, profit surge thanks to Illimity. And it launches a bank
Banca Ifis has doubled its profits in 2025, largely due to the acquisition and consolidation of Illimity Bank, and plans to pay significant dividends to shareholders.
Banca Ifis has reported a remarkable profit increase for the year 2025, achieving 328 million euros, thanks to the acquisition and consolidation of Illimity Bank. This financial performance was significantly bolstered by non-recurring benefits attributed to the acquisition led by Ernesto Fürstenberg Fassio, the bank's president. The merger is seen as a strategic move towards creating a strong banking group focused on serving small and medium-sized enterprises in Italy.
Additionally, Banca Ifis announced a substantial increase in dividend payments to shareholders, amounting to a total of 129 million euros. This includes a distribution of 73 million euros (1.20 euros per share) that occurred on November 26 and another 56 million euros (0.92 euros per share) scheduled for May 20. These decisions reflect the bank's commitment to providing value to its investors, despite an increased number of shares available on the market.
The year 2025 is described by the bank as a historic benchmark in its growth trajectory, attributed to the successful execution of a public exchange offer (Opas) on Illimity Bank. This strategic acquisition not only signifies a consolidation of assets but also marks the beginning of a robust industrial project that aims to merge two innovative banking entities, ultimately raising the profile and capabilities of the new banking group within the competitive landscape for servicing Italian SMEs.
