These are the new fuel prices in Ecuador
Ecuador has revised its fuel prices, with gasoline prices seeing an increase and a slight decrease in diesel prices, effective from February 12.
As of midnight on February 12, Ecuador will implement new fuel prices that reflect a slight increase for gasoline and a minimal decrease for diesel. Specifically, the price of extra and ecopaÃs gasoline has risen from $2.671 to $2.763, an increase of $0.092. In contrast, the price of diesel has decreased from $2.712 to $2.70, representing a drop of $0.012. These new prices will remain in effect until March 11. Ecuador's government has adjusted the formula for determining diesel prices through Executive Decree 303, issued on February 11, 2026. This adjustment comes after diesel was incorporated into monthly changes in fuel prices beginning December of the previous year. The price had been fixed at $2.80 after the elimination of subsidies in September 2025, following a long period during which it remained at $1.797. These changes in fuel pricing reflect ongoing dynamics in Ecuador's approach to managing fuel costs and subsidies, revealing challenges faced by the government in balancing economic pressures and the need for stability in fuel prices amidst fluctuating global oil markets.
