Metlen has announced its support for the integration of Acciaieria Arvedi, a prominent Italian steel manufacturer, into the Italian Energy Release 2.0 initiative. This program, facilitated by the Italian Energy Services Operator (GSE), is designed to bolster industrial energy consumption by promoting the development of renewable energy sources. With Italy's pressing need for stable energy solutions amidst the volatile European energy landscape, this collaboration is poised to offer significant benefits to energy-intensive industries such as steel production.

As part of this agreement, Metlen will supply approximately 2.4 TWh of energy to Acciaieria Arvedi, with an emphasis on maintaining stable and competitive pricing—a crucial requirement for industries facing high energy costs. The Energy Release 2.0 mechanism also includes plans for Metlen to establish around 170 MW of new photovoltaic capacity in Italy over the next three years.
