EuroLeague Bomb: N. Hayes-Davis Joins Panathinaikos
N. Hayes-Davis is set to join Panathinaikos on a three-year contract after being pursued by multiple teams in the EuroLeague.
N. Hayes-Davis, who was initially favored to sign with Tel Aviv's Hapoel, has instead agreed to a three-year contract with Panathinaikos following a flurry of interest from other clubs in the days prior. According to D. Giannakopoulos, Hayes-Davis will play in Athens through the end of this season and for two additional years beyond that.
Having spent several years in the EuroLeague, including winning a title with coach Šarūnas Jasikevičius, Hayes-Davis made the decision to leave for the NBA. Unfortunately, his stint with the Phoenix Suns was short-lived; after a disappointing performance with averages of 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds over 27 games, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, who subsequently waived him. With no other team showing interest, Hayes-Davis has become a free agent.
Currently, Panathinaikos sits eighth in the EuroLeague standings, with 16 wins from 27 games this season. The addition of Hayes-Davis could bolster their efforts as they seek to improve their position in the league and make a push for the playoffs, highlighting the ongoing dynamic and competitive nature of the EuroLeague.
