The Hellenic Union of Small-Scale Shipping (EENMA) actively supported the celebration of the Global Day of the Greek Language, a significant day established through Greece's initiative at UNESCO, largely due to the coordinated diplomatic efforts of the Permanent Representation and Greek representative George Koumoutsakos. This historic decision highlights the enduring strength and worldwide cultural reach of the Greek language, demonstrating its importance beyond national borders.

As part of the celebrations, the various roles of the Greek language across different fields were showcased, particularly emphasizing its contributions to science, philosophy, and shipping.
