Blessed Reginald was born circa 1180 in the diocese of Orléans, France, where he served as a law teacher and interpreter of ecclesiastical laws in Paris. During a pilgrimage to Rome, he met Saint Dominic and was inspired by his words, leading him to embrace the evangelical poverty espoused by the Order. After a miraculous healing attributed to the Blessed Virgin Mary, he joined the Dominicans and began to attract many young people and notable men to the Order through his virtuous life and ardent preaching.

In Bologna and then in Paris, Reginald actively promoted communal life and worked tirelessly to establish the Kingdom of Christ through his apostolic zeal. His dedication and articulate preaching garnered respect and admiration among his contemporaries. He passed away in Paris in 1220, leaving a legacy that deeply affected Saint Dominic, who found solace in the knowledge that Reginald died contentedly, having embraced the ideals of evangelical poverty.

Reginald's remarkable eloquence and impactful speech have been recognized by contemporaries, such as Jordan of Saxony, who noted the power of his oratory. His life and contributions to the Dominican Order highlight the importance of heartfelt dedication to faith and community service, making his story significant within the religious context of medieval Europe.
