Carnival in BH: Bloco da Bicicletinha and Arrastão do Hott take place this Thursday; see complete guide

The popular Bloco da Bicicletinha and Arrastão do Hott will both take to the streets of Belo Horizonte this Thursday for the carnival celebrations.

The carnival celebrations in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, are gearing up with two vibrant street blocs: Bloco da Bicicletinha and Arrastão do Hott. Bloco da Bicicletinha, which officially became a street bloc in 2014, invites participants to join the festivities on bicycles, promoting a lively and unique carnival experience. This event will start on Thursday, February 12, at 8 PM on Avenida Carandaí in the Funcionários neighborhood, offering a range of music genres such as axé, funk, rock, MPB, pagode, samba, sertanejo, pop, and afro, encouraging cyclists to bring their own bikes as rentals will not be provided.

In addition to the Bloco da Bicicletinha, the Arrastão do Hott is also scheduled to break out on the same day, kicking off at 6 PM on Avenida Antônio Abrahao Caram around the Mineirão stadium. This bloc was established in 2018 by singer Felipe Hott, inspired by the desire to fuse the excitement of large carnival processions with engaging musical performances. As the carnival progresses, both blocs exemplify the community spirit and festive energy associated with this beloved Brazilian tradition.

The inclusion of various musical styles and the active participation of the local community highlight the diversity and joy of the carnival season in Belo Horizonte, making it an inclusive celebration for both residents and visitors.
