FACTOMAT ⟩ No, there were no symbols of Satan at the Olympic opening ceremony

A fact-checking initiative has debunked conspiracy theories regarding symbols of Satan at the recent Olympic opening ceremony in Italy.

On February 6, Italy hosted the opening ceremony for the 25th Winter Olympic Games across four different locations, which included a majestic display with the Olympic flames lit in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The flame in Milan was ignited at the 'Arco della Pace', located approximately four kilometers from the 'San Siro' stadium, where the ceremony took place. In Cortina, the flame was lit in the city’s main square. However, the ceremony's symbolism has sparked conspiracy theories claiming that Satan was worshipped and that the flames illuminated devil symbols rather than honoring the geometric knots created by the renowned Italian inventor, painter, and engineer Leonardo da Vinci.
