A Qatari official announced a substantial expansion of Qatar Investment Authority's fund by an additional $2 billion following the successful establishment of twelve startups with an initial investment of $1 billion. This development indicates Qatar's commitment to fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem bolstered by financial backing and innovative resources.
In discussions focusing on tech entrepreneurship, Hamad Alhajri, the founder of the Seno application, revealed the company's ambitious plans to transform Qatar into a robotics capital by 2035. During an interview with 'Smart Life,' Alhajri highlighted the application’s reliance on artificial intelligence for personalized recommendations and logistics services. He also announced a new partnership with the Qatar Research Council to develop drones and ground delivery robots, emphasizing that these systems would be fully developed in Doha.
Moreover, Qatar also launched 'Fanar AI,' the first locally designed Arabic AI model aimed at achieving digital sovereignty. Dr. Mohammed Al-Tebak from the Qatar Computing Research Institute explained that the platform focuses on the Arabic language and various dialects while reflecting the cultural identity of Arab and Islamic communities, which often lack representation in technological advancements.
