Pašalić is the record holder of all Croats in Italian football

Mario Pašalić has set a new record in Croatian football by becoming the player with the most appearances in Italy's Serie A.

Mario Pašalić has made his mark in the history of Croatian football by becoming the player with the most appearances in Italy's Serie A. He achieved this milestone during a match between Atalanta and Cremonese, which Atalanta won 2-1, marking his 274th appearance in the league. This surpasses the previous record set by Milan Badelj, who had 273 appearances. Pašalić's achievement underscores the growing influence of Croatian players in top-tier football leagues and highlights his significant contributions to his club.

In addition to this recent achievement, Mario Pašalić had previously secured the title of the highest-scoring Croatian in Serie A history back in October 2024. With a current tally of 54 goals and 33 assists in the league, Pašalić commemorated his record-setting match with an assist leading to a goal by teammate Davide Zappacosta. His consistent performance demonstrates his skill and importance to Atalanta, where he has been a key player since joining the team in 2018.

Following Pašalić on the all-time list of Croatian players in Serie A are Milan Badelj, Marcelo Brozović, Ivan Perišić, and Zvonimir Boban, each with impressive careers in Italian football. Pašalić made his Serie A debut in the 2016-2017 season with AC Milan, but it is his tenure at Atalanta where he has truly flourished, amassing a significant number of matches that now positions him as a standout figure in Croatian football's legacy in Italy.
