Police rescue kidnapped victim in Gombe
The Gombe State Police successfully rescued a kidnapping victim following an attack in Tingile Village.
The Gombe State Police Command reported a successful rescue operation on Wednesday, following a kidnapping incident in Tingile Village, located in the Birin Fulani area of Nafada Local Government. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the incident unfolded on February 11th, 2026, when a gang attacked the ranch of a local businessman, Alhaji Adamu Bappah, and abducted him while injuring his son who was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
The attack was described as violent, with the assailants wielding sticks, cutlasses, and knives during the assault. The police's prompt response was credited for the swift rescue operation, which involved coordination between police operatives, local hunters, and vigilante groups.
