A boat docked at a marina on Avenida Bernardo Sayão in the Guamá neighborhood of Belém caught fire, startling students from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and passersby. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, November 11. Eyewitness reports and videos circulating on social media captured the scene with thick, dark smoke emanating from the vessel, drawing attention from those nearby.

The local firefighters were dispatched promptly, sending approximately eight personnel equipped with a fire truck and two additional support vehicles to combat the flames. By noon, the firefighters had managed to control the fire, although one firefighter remained on-site to ensure the flames did not reignite. Reports indicated that nobody was aboard the boat during the incident, and the vessel itself was not destroyed.

While the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, initial suspicions point towards an electrical short circuit as a potential trigger.
